A Chicago native, I was born the youngest of four siblings in 1984 on the citys south side. By the age of four, my siblings and I were in the foster care system and temporarily placed from one home to another. Growing up between Illinois and Wisconsin, I found it difficult to maintain a stable foundation and sense of permanence. In the Department of Children and Family Services foster care system until my graduation from Western Illinois University; I decided to use my childhood experiences as the catalyst for my work. I continued my art practices at the University of Wisconsin Madison, where I received a Master of Fine-Arts degree in studio practices, with an emphasis in printmaking.
I currently live in Milwaukee, WI, where I am continuing my art practice and will begin teaching Serigraphy/Mono-Printing at The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in the spring of 2012.
